How to be Merry and Bright for the Holidays
•Posted on August 11 2023
We are absolutely in love with making Christmas quilts in summer. Why? Because they need to be ready for gift-giving and displaying around your home in just a few short months.
Take a look at this lovely Merry and Bright quilt made by Rhonda. She used Lella Boutique's "Christmas Eve" fabrics for the wonderful stars and the pattern is "Merry & Bright" by the pattern basket.
Because Rhonda is an amazing quilter, she has included her speed cutting tips and instructions on how to make 4 flying geese at a time. She definitely recommends that you use "Diagonal Seam Tape" by Cluck Cluck Sew to help you sew your flying geese unites. It is one of her favorite sewing notions after all.
And while she is sewing, she enjoys snacking on Cinnamon Bears.
We wandered up to Pine Valley, Utah to take this picture under the largest Blue Spruce pine tree we could find. If you haven't been to Pine Valley, it is worth the short drive when you are visiting St. George. It's such a lovely and quiet community. In fact, the cows roam free-range, so you do have to watch for cows on the road. Silly known fact is that the valley was discovered by a man who was looking for his lost cows.
No lost cows the day we took this picture of this beautiful quilt. We hope you find joy in making "Merry and Bright" for your Christmas quilt collection.
